The ESFP is a one year college based NVQ level 2 pre-apprenticeship course delivered by East Coast College. It aims to introduce students to the main engineering disciplines required within the energy industry so they can make an informed career choice.

The course was developed by industry to provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge of various aspects of the energy industry as well as experience the engineering disciplines required for their potential future careers.

The course involves studying for several energy related qualifications and offers exciting opportunities to visit local employers and tour sites such as Sizewell Nuclear Power Station, Bacton Gas Terminal and a Seajacks jack-up crane barge.

The skills and knowledge acquired are valued by employers and can help learners progress to an apprenticeship programme or technician level courses relating to the energy industry.
